Although there are currently no books available specifically for the Sun Certified Mobile Application Developer exam, the following books are well worth a read.

Programming Wireless Devices with the Java 2 Platform Roger Riggs, Antero Taivalsaari, Mark VandenBrink, 2003

Programming

Sun Java Wireless Toolkit (WTK) The basic tool for J2ME program development. You’ll need this to code any J2ME programs before taking the SCMAD exam.

Java 2 Standard Edition (J2SE) SDK The Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition (J2SE) provides the Java platform upon which the J2ME Wireless Toolkit runs.

Eclipse A universal tool platform, together with EclipseME; an Eclipse plugin to help develop J2ME MIDlets makes a nice environment for J2ME development.
